Giovanni Battista Piranesi was born 1720 most
likely in Venecia. He studied architecture and produced a lot
of etchings about his personal view of the antique Rome. It is
not a reconstruction, but as well not pure imagination, as you
can see a lot of archaeological details!
Some of Piranesis etchings look like a picture of our mind, don't
